While this would be considered normal behavior for a typical dog or cat, the fact that a seal enjoys belly rubs just serves to demonstrate how universal this feeling is throughout all creatures.

It turned out that Grayson’s belly-rubbing abilities were so impressive that the seal was witnessed flapping its flipper over the diver’s palm as a sign of appreciation. It was a delightful sight to behold, especially because the seal’s saggy coat swayed in sync with the waves. The seal remained on its back for a considerable amount of time, evidently content. If anything, the seal’s behavior became more playful as he sprang back to his feet and prepared to make another move.
