Cats are undoubtedly amazing creatures that often give us a lot of surprises. Musya is among those cats that have shocked both their owner and a whole team of veterinarians. They were shocked to find Musya breastfeeding her little kittens. She was the resident cat at the Sadgorod Zoo and for sure, so many people loved her. She was just a year old but she was very unusual. However, Musya suddenly became pregnant and everyone wanted to keep her healthy and happy before she gave birth.

The Search For Musya
Musya waddled all over the zoo but she always had company. The workers at the zoo were so nervous upon learning that Musya had gone missing. There were several animals that could be seen including ducks, raccoons and geese. There were lions, bears, tigers and so many more. With so many animals around, Musya was at risk because the bigger ones could have hurt her. As such, a hunt was launched.
One Of The Residents
Musya was not like other animals in the zoo. She ended up staying there as their resident cat by mistake. One of the zookeepers called Alice was working at the zoo when he noticed Musya. She had spotted a black object moving on one cold day. It was in the snow. Alice knew that it couldn’t just be dirt mound there. The poor black cat had frozen in the cold. Her nose had hedgehogs in them and she couldn’t even move. Alice took her to the vet.
A Tiny Cat
Alice quickly took the cat and wrapped her in her jacket before quickly looking for the vets. The vets did as much as they could to save the cat however they couldn't do much more after that than sit and wait. They were surprised but their joy was in the fact that the cat had somehow made it through the night. With the passing days the cat started becoming stronger. She was taken to the staff room to make sure the cat would get the love and care she was willing to give.
They All Loved Her
Everyone in the petting zoo loved the new member of their little family, Musya. They were happy that every day she grew stronger. She was soon able to run around the room all day. However, they realized that the zoo was no place for Musya because normally cats love it when their world is discovered but every time she would look out the window all she would see were wild animals. When the zookeepers walked out once and left the door open, Musya took advantage of the opportunity to sneak out.
She Got Out Of There
Alice loved taking Musya on nice short walks but every time she did this, she would ensure Musya was on a leash. She always feared that the feline would end up crashing into one of the many enclosures around. For close to a year, they were successful in doing this. Nevertheless everyone panicked when Musya left the room all alone. They spent two days looking for Musya, seeking so many enclosures with hopes that the cat had not met any danger while out there.
Holding Onto Hope
Every single person at the zoo had high hopes that the cat was fine wherever she was. They were however aware of how dangerous it was for the cat to be out there all alone. Some people had however warned Alice that the little cat might never come back. Despite such warnings, she still remained hopeful and discovered it's always great to remain confident.
She Returned Home
After two long days, Musya came back home. She made her presence known by simply pawing right on the door. Alice cried in relief after seeing Musya alive and kicking. She even started considering looking for the cat's home. Saying goodbye was too difficult so she ended up keeping Musya.
She Was Different
A few weeks after Musya returned, they noticed something different in her. It was a bit disturbing for them that Musya was cranky and she was also lethargic. This was easy to notice because before she went missing, she was always very sweet and playful. All of a sudden, she did not even want to step out even when the door was open. They wondered what could be happening to the cat.
Something Was Up
It seemed almost as if this was a new cat. When she walked out of the room all she would end up doing was sleep on the floor. At this point, they noticed that not all was well with their beloved cat. Alice easily noticed that there was something odd even though she couldn't quite put her finger on it. It seemed almost as if Musya had been broken. The cat had suddenly lost all interest in whatever was happening in the outside world. Everyone was at that point in confusion as there was no explanation for what was happening.
She Went Missing Again
One day, Alice returned to the staff lounge for a cup of tea. She wanted some time to cuddle with her cat. Sadly, she couldn't find the cat anywhere which was rather unusual. Once again, Musya was missing. This time, it was worse because the weather was really terrible. There was thunder and a storm outside.
They Looked For Her
By this time, everyone already knew that they had to find Musya. They needed to do everything possible to get her back. They quickly grabbed their flashlights and stepped out. The zookeepers looked in every imaginable corner and kept a sharp ear for any meows. Surely, she had to be somewhere there.

In The Bushes
There were some cars on the parking lot outside the zoos grounds. Musya was probably just around. In Alice’s opinion, Musya was just within the zoo. Slightly past the enclosure that had the zoo’s lions, Suddenly, she heard a noise. It was a cry that came from the bush. She pointed to the spot using her flashlight and there she saw Musya. She was so relieved.
She Was Not On Her Own
The cat was quietly sitting in the bush but she was not alone. Alice found this shocking. Something was creeping on Musya’s chest. She took a closer look and was so surprised by what she saw. Musya had kittens with her. However, this was not even the biggest surprise.
The Big Surprise
It goes without saying that everyone who was there with Alice was shocked to see the kittens. What had them gasping though was the fact that something else seemed to be slipping into Musya’s chest. They couldn’t hide their shock when they saw that baby hedgehogs were also there. They couldn’t leave them there.
They Got Her A Box
One of them got a box and blanket from the house. The goal was to get all of these animals out of harm. Alice started picking them up one by one and putting them in the box. The intention was to take them all to the vet. Imagine just how many questions they all had going through their minds at the time.
She Had Babies
Alice took Musya and the little ones to a vet. At first the vet frowned but then ended up laughing. He admitted that he had never seen such a thing before. He started looking at them and separating the kittens from the hedgehogs. He then went to talk to Alice about this.
Wanting To Be With Them
As soon as the vet left the animals alone, Musya moved close to the babies and moved the kittens close to the hedgehogs. She then relaxed with all of them. She allowed the little ones to drink milk and get some sun. Alice went back to see what was happening.
An Adoptive Mom
At this point Musya just wanted to be a mother to all the babies. Although Alice was fascinated by all these occurences, she did not think it was wise to allow her to mother all of them. This is because there was a chance the kittens could get pricked by their hedgehog siblings. She broke them apart once again but interestingly the hedgehog resisted feeding through the bottle.
Together Once More
Although Alice was not too certain about leaving them all together, she allowed Musya to look after all of them. Soon afterwards, Alice found out where these hedgehogs came from. Their mother probably had an accident inside their zoo. She could recall an instance that such an accident happened thanks to a lawnmower.
On Their Own
These little animals must have spent a few days alone before Musya spotted them. It's highly likely that they were starving before Musya took them as her offsprings. No one could understand why Musya was doing this before or after she gave birth to her own kittens. So what was next for this strange little family?
Raising Baby Hedgehogs
Can you believe that not once did Musya get stung by the hedgehogs? She took them as her own so lovingly in the end. Of course Alice was around to help them out whenever she could. The staff created an enclosure for them outside their staff room. When this story was posted online, as would be expected it went viral.
They Were All Speechless
All the lovely images of this amazing yet odd family left many surprised. Cat lovers who heard about this were touched by the story of her maternal instinct. Everyone understood that she was a gentle mother. Isn't it just great to see how loving she is? Through this, the cat showed compassion just like Alice did to her a year before.

So just in case you’re wondering, the hedgehogs grew into adults and everyday, Musya continues to take care of them everyday. She goes to their enclosure just to see that things are fine daily. What a tale right? To be honest, we don’t know what anyone else would do if their cat suddenly adopted some hedgehogs.
