1. Exploration. First of all you should discover your fashion icons. Check them out on social networks and figure out what it is that makes them attractive. It will help you to develop your own style. Analyze what famous stylish people do to look good. Make a list of your likes and dislikes. Then define your own preferences and tastes.

2. Creativity. Some might want to create a fashion scrapbook. Nowadays it’s easy to do online. Use Clothia or Pinterest instead of a physical scrapbook. If you prefer the latter, it is also great. Cut out and glue (or simply copy and paste) articles, hints and tips as well as pictures of what seems to be right for you.

3. Identification. Now it’s high time you considered who you are. While exploring the latest trends and fashion, make sure themes merge well enough with your favorite stuff. What kind of outfits do you choose more often? What if you are into boho style? You can also be a fan of minimalism or retro. Do not copy others. Use the best details to create your own look.

4. Observation. Remember to observe others and how they wear things. See and compare yourself. Can you wear the same items better? Do they look good on you?

5. Snobbism. Snobs are never stylish. They might look fashionable, but style is not only in your clothing, but also in your attitude and behavior. Treasures can be found in thrift stores. There are plenty of cool things in vintage shops. But you cannot buy a nice personality.

6. Loyalty. Loyalty to yourself is one of the most important aspects. You cannot create your own style if you lose your true self. Your individuality is what makes you special and unique. Your clothes and accessories should make you more complete rather than replace or substitute you. Find the things that can reflect you very well and in which you feel good. It takes courage and confidence to stay true, but it is worth the effort!
